On Tuesday Greg met with the African American Chamber of Commerce of Oregon to speak to them about the legislatures role in implementing "Project Clean Slate" and what he plans to do as Attorney General. Some of the topics covered included mandatory minimum sentencing and predatory lending. Greg told the group that he believes there needs to be a reevaluation of the mandatory minimum sentences under Measure 11.

Roy Jay, the founder of Project Clean Slate and President of the AACC spoke very highly of Greg saying,"Greg MacPherson was helpful in the passage of HB 3054 which gave start up money for Project Clean Slate. His leadership in this area demonstrated his commitment to assist those Oregonians that needed a second or third chance to be productive citizens by removing some of the barriers to driver licenses, employment, housing and other opportunities through Project Clean Slate. His continued support and influence with legislative colleagues and private sector will help this program grow to other Oregon counties."
